Are you our next team member?

We’re looking for someone who gets it.

At My Village Playhouse, we believe that raising little humans really does take a village — and we want our team to be part of that village.

We’re looking for a teammate who is warm, welcoming, dependable, personable, and genuinely enjoys being around people (and a LOT of tiny people). Someone who can make a parent feel welcomed when they walk through the door, remember a regular’s coffee order, chat with a toddler about their very important dinosaur, and somehow keep their cool when someone has a question, a complaint, or a really big feeling.

Basically, we’re looking for someone who can be the friendly face of MVP while also being the person who can confidently say, “I’m sorry, but that’s not one of our playhouse rules.”

Because both things matter.

What You'll Be Doing

As an MVP teammate, you’ll help keep our playhouse running smoothly and make sure our guests have a safe, clean, welcoming, and fun experience.

Your day may include:

  • Welcoming families and checking patrons in with a smile

  • Answering the phone and helping guests with questions

  • Taking café and coffee orders and preparing delicious drinks

  • Keeping the café and behind-the-counter areas clean and organized

  • Cleaning and maintaining the play floor throughout the day

  • Keeping bathrooms clean, stocked, and ready for the next round of tiny visitors

  • Helping maintain a safe and enjoyable play environment

  • Keeping an eye on what’s happening around the playhouse and stepping in when needed

  • Explaining and enforcing My Village Playhouse rules in a kind, respectful, and confident way

  • Handling difficult questions, customer concerns, and unexpected situations with patience and good judgment

  • Responding appropriately to emergencies and knowing when to ask for help

  • Pitching in wherever needed — because at MVP, we’re a team

The Kind of Person We're Looking For

We care less about having the perfect résumé and more about finding the right person.

You might be a great fit if you:

Are naturally warm and personable.
You can make people feel comfortable, welcomed, and seen. You genuinely enjoy interacting with customers and coworkers.

Can be friendly AND firm.
Our playhouse needs to feel fun and relaxed, but our rules exist for a reason — mostly because toddlers are tiny chaos agents and safety matters. You should feel comfortable enforcing our policies without being rude, confrontational, or apologetic.

Have good judgment.
Not every situation comes with a script. We need someone who can think on their feet, stay calm, and know when to handle something themselves and when to grab a manager.

Don't melt under pressure.
There will be busy mornings. There will be spilled coffee. There will be crying. There will be questions you've answered 47 times. There may even be a toddler having an emotional crisis because their banana broke in half. We need someone who can roll with it.

Notice things.
If the bathroom needs toilet paper, you restock it. If the floor needs a sweep, you sweep it. If the café is getting backed up, you jump in. We’re looking for someone who sees what needs to be done and doesn't always need to be asked.

Is a team player.
We work together, we communicate, and we help each other. No task is “beneath” anyone.

Can handle the unexpected.
You should be comfortable responding to difficult customer situations and emergencies while remaining calm, professional, and compassionate.

Likes kids.
This one seems obvious, but it’s important. You don't have to be a toddler whisperer on Day One. You just need to enjoy being around kids and be willing to learn the art of communicating with someone who has a 500-word vocabulary but somehow uses “no” as 80% of it.

The MVP Personality

We want our guests to walk into My Village Playhouse and immediately feel:

“Oh, I like it here.”

That starts with our team.

You’ll often be the first person a family interacts with, so your energy matters. We want someone who is upbeat without being fake, helpful without being overbearing, and confident without being intimidating.

Most importantly, we want someone who treats our customers — and their teammates — with kindness, patience, and respect.

A Few Things You Should Know

Working at My Village Playhouse isn't just about coffee, cleaning, and checking people in.

It's about creating a place where parents can exhale for a minute.

It's about helping a nervous first-time visitor feel comfortable.

It's about knowing when a toddler needs a little space and when a parent needs a little help.

It's about keeping things running behind the scenes so families can simply enjoy their time together.

And yes, there will be pee. We can't lie to you about that.

The Perks

Aside from being part of a pretty great team, you can expect:

☕ Free delicious coffee
👶 Unrestricted baby oogling
🧸 A front-row seat to toddler entertainment
🗣️ The opportunity to become fluent in “toddler”
😂 A workday that is rarely boring
❤️ The chance to be part of the village

The Bottom Line

We're not looking for someone who is perfect.

We're looking for someone who is kind, responsible, capable, fun, and willing to jump in.

Someone we'd be happy to work alongside every day.

Someone our customers will trust.

Someone our team can count on.

And someone who understands that at My Village Playhouse, we're not just running a play space — we're helping build a village.

If that sounds like you, we'd love to meet you.
